Setting Up Notifications in the ASM Platform

The ASM platform offers a comprehensive notification feature to ensure you receive timely updates on critical events. Follow these steps to set up your notifications easily:

  1. Log in to the platform and access the notifications preference page by clicking on the gear icon in the in-app notifications pane from any workspace.

Configuring the Delivery Channel

  1. By default, email notifications are enabled for all users. If your organization prefers other applications such as Google Chat, Slack, or Microsoft Teams, please send an email to support@secuin.io to request enabling those options.

  1. If you prefer email as your notification delivery channel, turn on the email toggle in the “Notification Channels” page.

  1. For chat applications as the preferred notification delivery channel, create a channel and generate a webhook link using the provided steps.

  1. Click on “Add” and provide a Webhook Name and the Webhook link.

  1. Admin users can set a notification channel for the entire team/workspace by selecting the checkbox labeled “Make this common to all users in my workspace.” This ensures that the platform sends notifications for all the rules to that channel at a weekly frequency.

Note: Only one workspace default channel can exist in a workspace. The workspace common webhook or channel will be visible to all users as long as at least one user has created it.

  1. If you want a channel to receive notifications based on your personal preferences, leave the checkbox unchecked.

Note: Each user can have a maximum of two channels (one workspace common channel and one personal channel).

Configuring the Notification Rules

  1. After setting up the notification delivery channel, navigate to the “Notifications” tab.

  1. This page displays the list of rules for which notifications will be sent.

  1. Select the desired rules and click on “Add Configuration.”

  1. From the dropdown, choose the pre-configured delivery channel.

  1. Select the desired frequency for all your personal configurations from the radio buttons at the top.

Note: The frequency set in the 'Notifications' page ONLY applies to the Personal Configurations. Workspace level configurations will always have the ASM set default frequency of 'Weekly'

Recommendations to Optimize the Notifications Experience:

  • Avoid using the same channel for all workspaces. This allows each workspace to have its own dedicated chat application channel, preventing excessive notifications in a single channel.

  • Avoid generating multiple webhooks to the same channel for personal channel webhook configuration. Multiple users with different rule preferences entering different webhook links for the same channel will create noise.

By following these steps, you can ensure successful receipt of notifications in your preferred application.

To Unsubscribe from Notifications:

  • To temporarily turn off notifications, navigate to the Notification Channels page and turn off the toggle. You can turn it back on at any time to resume receiving notifications.

  • Remove yourself from the chap app channels
